Increasingly bolstered as one of the powers that be on the national stage, Palmeiras is trying to climb a step after being in “semi” in the last release, when Corinthians overtook him in the final.

– I’m really looking forward to this first meeting with my fans, and I hope they’ll come and be able to repay all the affection I’ve received in all the clips I’ve received here. This time it will be even more special, as I will play an entire season for the club. Zanerato said: “I hope it will be a wonderful meeting and that the Palmeiras family will increasingly embrace women’s football.

It is the team’s second participation of the year. In February, Palmeiras played in the Supercopa do Brasil with eight absences due to Covid-19 and was knocked out in the first stage of the Corinthians, with a 3-0 defeat.

The first match also marks the reunion of current captain Alviverde with the former club. After leaving Gallo, Hoffmann Tulio took over the leadership of Alverde at the end of 2021.

The Avengers are competing for the first time in the Brazilian elite since the revitalization of women’s football in 2018. The team made it through last year with current coach Almeras, arriving undefeated in the A2 do Nacional final – and losing the title to Bragantino.

Since then, the team has undergone deep overhauls, with 17 signings and 10 remaining – including the midfielder. Among the new faces were midfielders Luciana Gomez and Carol Bermudez, of the Uruguay national team.
