The study says one in three young people in England is unaware of the Beatles

According to a study by Roberts Radio, one-third of young people in the UK do not know this The Beatles. This study seeks to understand whether the big names in pop music are passed down through the generations – or not.

After the Beatles, the most memorable artists of Generation Z are Elvis Presley (67.24%), Whitney Houston (67.24%), Queen (66.81%), Madonna (62.07), Paul McCartney (57.76%), Prince (56.03%) and David Bowie ( 53.88%).

Singer Aretha Franklin was rarely remembered by young people, and more than 60% did not know her. Very close are U2 and The Supremes.

The survey also asked about the music preferences of people over the age of 74, known as the Silent Generation. Compared to groups, the survey shows that 18% of older people now want to hear about successful artists.

“Fans of older artists are immersed in the world of modern music and would like to know how much older generations will be involved in music by 2022,” Roberts wrote on the radio study’s exposure page.

An example of this is Post Malone, Doja Gate and Olivia Rodrigo – who have millions of fans among young people – less than 3% of the elderly know. On the other hand, among current artists, Ed Sheeran is known by 60% of people over the age of 74, followed by artists such as Lady Gaga, Beyonc and Taylor Swift.
