NS United kingdom On Monday (18) it reported the largest number of new daily cases of Covid-19 in three months, with the number of infections reaching a level last seen when lockdown restrictions were still in place in England during the country’s summer.
At the moment, the number of infections in the UK is much higher than in other Western European countries and has increased by more than 60% in the last month.
British government data indicated 49,156 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, up from 45,140 on Sunday, the highest daily rise recorded since July 17.
On July 19, a England lifted the latest restrictions on social distancing, allowing bars and restaurants to operate at full capacity and nightclubs to reopen.
More injured children
The number of cases has risen steadily since schools returned from summer vacation last month, as studies have indicated infections are increasing among children, even as their prevalence among adults has declined.
However, with more than two-thirds of the adult population receiving the full vaccination, the risk of hospitalization and death has decreased dramatically.
