A fired employee breaks wine bottles in the market and goes to prison

After being fired from her job at a supermarket in Argentina, a 25-year-old girl was caught breaking bottles of local liquor in a “moment of rage”. The case was registered on Tuesday (14) in Rafaela, Santa Fe.

The video of the fired employee, known as Evelin Roldán, breaking bottles while another employee yells has gained popularity on social media. In it, wine spilled on the floor of one of the aisles can be seen.

The young woman spoke to local newspaper El Litoral and said she had been working at the Apollo market since March 2022, during which time she was abused. She claims that she was released without any explanation and left without any financial support.

According to the dismissed young woman, she worked nine hours a day, from Monday to Saturday, to receive a salary of 50,000 pesos (equivalent to two thousand Brazilian reals). The minimum wage in the state is 45,500 pesos.

In addition to reporting the alleged abuse, the woman claimed that her superiors “conveniently” edited the video for them. She has been arrested by the police and will be legally responsible for the “act of sabotage”.

“I will follow the legal path, trusting that there will be some justice for the righteous and that I will move heaven and earth to find it,” he said.
