A bridge collapsed during its reopening in Cuernavaca, Mexico, on Tuesday, 7. The event, which was for local authorities, was covered by the press, which recorded the fall’s moment.

According to the Mexican press, at least eight people were injured, some with serious injuries, such as open fractures.

Pictures show that about 20 people fell from the bridge into a creek filled with stones in Porfirio Diaz Park, among them the mayor of Cuernavaca, Jose Luis Oriostegui, advisers and journalists.

“I sincerely hope there are no serious injuries,” Morelos’ governor, Cuauhtemoc Blanco, wrote on Twitter.
