Unipar (UNIP6) Shares Up Almost 10% After Its Earnings Increased 5 Times And Dividends Of Rls 300 Million

São Paulo – Unipar Carbochlor (UNIP6) recorded net income of R$788 million in the third quarter of 2021 (Q3 of 21). The result represents a growth of 404.3% compared to the same period in 2020 – or more than 5 times.

The shares of UNIP6 witnessed a strong rise during the session, as it closed at a rise of 9.77%, to reach 91.89 Brazilian riyals, while the UNIP3 index rose by 5.38% to 92.20 Brazilian riyals. UNIP5 jumped 12.84% to R$90.97. NS IbovespaIn turn, the session closed down 1.17%.

According to the company, the profit growth was due to higher product sales, along with an increase in the international price of caustic soda.

Total net revenue was R$1.791 billion in Q321, an increase of 52.3% over the same period in the previous year.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (Ebitda, its English acronym) grew 223.7% compared to the same phase in 2020, totaling R$1.020 billion.

Ebitda’s margin was 57% in the third quarter of 2021, an increase of 30.2 percentage points compared to the same quarter of 2020.

Unipar’s board of directors has agreed to pay dividends – based on cumulative earnings for the nine months of 2021 – in the amount of R$300.0 million.

The proceeds will be divided as follows:

  • R$98.489 million for UNIP3 shares, compared to R$2,98382016949 per common share;
  • R$ 6.663 million for UNIP5 shares, compared to R$ 3,28220218644 per Class A preferred share
  • R$194.846 million for UNIP6 shares, compared to R$3,28220218644 for each Class “B” preferred share.

Shareholders of the company on November 17, 2021 will be entitled to dividend, dividend will be paid as of November 30, 2021 and the shares will be trading without dividend as of November 18, 2021.

The company has also approved a third share repurchase program, with a term through May 14, 2023.
